چکیده:
The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between goal orientation, motivational climate, and sources of self-confidence in volleyball players participating in the 83-84 season Super League competitions. The statistical sample of the research consisted of 80 players who all participated professionally in the country's Super League competitions. Three questionnaires were used to collect data. Goal orientation questionnaire, Perceived Motivational Climate Questionnaire (PMCQ), and Sports Self-Confidence Sources Questionnaire (SSCQ). Examining the obtained results showed that among the 8 sources of self-confidence, mastery of skill, coach leadership style, and ability demonstration had the highest mean. In general, individuals with a task-oriented orientation benefit from more sources of self-confidence. Task-oriented individuals considered skill mastery and social support as factors creating self-confidence in themselves, while self-oriented individuals considered the desired situation as a factor creating self-confidence. Teams with a task-oriented motivational climate considered skill mastery as a factor creating self-confidence, and in contrast, in a self-oriented motivational climate, desired situation and expression of physical competencies were mentioned as factors creating self-confidence.

Duda (1992) (3), by stating the perceived motivational climate by athletes, which in fact expresses the dominant characteristics in strengthening each dimension of achievement orientation, refers to the role of environmental conditions and especially the performance of coaches in strengthening each aspect of self-orientation and task orientation.
The Sport Confidence Sources Questionnaire (OCSS) 5 consists of 43 questions that examine 8 subscales (sources of confidence) including skill mastery, ability demonstration, expression of physical abilities, social support, coach leadership, vicarious experience, environmental comfort, and preferred position.

In contrast, teams whose prevailing motivational climate was task-oriented considered skill mastery at a good level as a factor in creating self-confidence in their teams and did not give much importance to factors such as displaying physical competence and the desired situation.
