چکیده:
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of effleurage sports massage on some immune indices of elite disabled wheelchair basketball players after a special strenuous training session. The subjects were sixteen physically disabled individuals who were homogenized based on disability score (IWBF) and divided into two groups of eight, including a control group and an experimental group. The subjects performed a 40-minute special strenuous wheelchair basketball training session at maximum intensity (with heart rate control). After training, the experimental group received 20 minutes of massage. The control group rested at this time. Serum samples of the subjects were collected by a laboratory expert at four stages. The results showed that immediately after the massage and 24 hours later, there was no significant difference in Immunoglobulin A of the experimental group compared to the control group (0.063 < P and 0.057 < P). The number of neutrophils in the experimental group showed a significant decrease immediately (P > 0.008) and 24 hours after the massage (P > 0.030). In general, considering the decrease in neutrophils, it seems that 20 minutes of effleurage sports massage can have a beneficial effect on the immune system of wheelchair basketball players. Therefore, it is recommended that coaches and athletes use effleurage sports massage after completing strenuous sports training.

Assistant Professor, Department of Exercise Physiology, Faculty of Physical Education, Shahrekord University, Shahrekord, Iran Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Swedish massage on some immune indices of elite wheelchair basketball players after a single intense exercise session.
Overall, considering the decrease in neutrophils, it appears that 20 minutes of Swedish massage can have a beneficial effect on the immune system of wheelchair basketball players.
Considering that, in addition to muscle injuries, the function of the immune system may also be disrupted after intense sports training, and this may negatively affect athletic performance, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of massage after a specific intense activity on serum Immunoglobulin A and circulating neutrophils in elite disabled athletes in the wheelchair basketball field, so that if massage is effective in improving the immune function of the subjects of the present study, its use is recommended to this group of athletes.
(Neutrophils expressed as number of units/milliliter) Discussion and Conclusion The results of the present study showed that there was no significant increase in Immunoglobulin A in the experimental group compared to the control group immediately after massage and 24 hours after sports massage (P The present results are inconsistent with the results of Manuel (21), Gyu-khun (19), Wang (26), Bill Halt (10), and Hemming (15).
Finally, although the IgA level did not change significantly, considering the decrease in neutrophil levels, it seems that 20 minutes of Swedish sports massage can have a beneficial effect on the immune system of elite wheelchair basketball players.
