چکیده:
Iran has experienced a sharp decline in total fertility rate in recent decades. The results of studies show that women's role in society and their ability to make decisions in family affairs are effective factors in women's fertility behavior. The present research, using a survey method, examines the relationship between some dimensions of women's power structure in the family and the fertility rate of women in Tehran. Data were collected through questionnaires from 400 married women with at least one child in Tehran. The results of bivariate analysis show that the relationship between variables such as access to valuable resources (education, employment, economic capital), women's intellectual independence, division of household labor, attitude towards gender inequalities, and power structure in the family with the fertility rate is significant. Also, the results of regression analysis indicate that among the different variables, the variable of women's access to valuable resources and the division of household labor play a decisive role in explaining the changes in the dependent variable; so that with increasing women's access to valuable resources and decreasing their participation in the division of household labor, fertility decreases. In addition, the variable of women's independence also has high explanatory power in relation to the fertility variable, both directly and indirectly; so that when women's independence increases, their fertility decreases.

Descriptive Findings of the Research (Refer to the page image) (Refer to the page image) Hypothesis 1: Examining the relationship between women's access to valuable resources and fertility: Pearson's test shows that the significance level is below 0.
The variables of women's independence and family power structure were removed from Table 7 due to the lack of a significant relationship with the dependent variable (number of children).
The amount of direct, indirect, and total effects of independent variables on the dependent variable (fertility) (Refer to the page image) The household division of labor variable has a strong direct relationship with the number of children and has the highest beta coefficient of 0.
