چکیده:
Tourism planning in the field of destination carrying capacity believes that the host community has a certain capacity for the growth and development of tourism, and growth beyond that capacity will lead to social and environmental consequences and will eventually reduce the benefits of tourism investments. Determining the carrying capacity of a destination area is done in two dimensions: the host community and guests (tourists). The aim of this research is to investigate and determine the carrying capacity of the Kelardasht tourism area with emphasis on the host community dimension. The research method is survey (grounding and exploratory), descriptive, analytical, and questionnaire-based. The findings of the research show that, from the perspective of the host community, the Kelardasht area has different carrying capacities in relation to the type of tourists. So that, considering the performance of second-home tourists, the carrying capacity of the area has reached its threshold, but in relation to tourists with a minimum one-night stay (accommodation tourists), the saturation threshold of carrying capacity is not confirmed. Also, from the perspective of the host community, the status of the carrying capacity of the Kelardasht area is influenced by people's attitude towards the type of tourists who are more effective economically, the type of tourists desirable in terms of performance (the extent of their impact on the environment), the extent of the area's economy's dependence on tourism, the economic future of the area under the influence of tourism, the personal benefits of individuals from tourism, and the level of public awareness and sensitivity to environmental issues in the area.
