The general purpose of the present research was to investigate the effect of two methods of interval training with high and moderate intensity on plasma levels of orexin-A, lipid profile and cardiovascular endurance of overweight and obese women. 24 women with an age range of 25-45 years were voluntarily and non-randomly divided into three groups of interval training with high intensity (BMI=29/61± 3/45 kg/m2 ,n=9), moderate intensity (n=8 ; BMI= 28/19 ± 3/83 kg/m2) and control (BMI=29/18 ± 4/71kg/m2 , n=7). The training program was performed for 8 weeks / three sessions per week with an intensity of 75-90% for the HIIT group and 60 -80% of maximum heart rate for the MIIT group. The results showed a significant decrease in total cholesterol levels and a significant increase in cardiovascular endurance in the training groups (P≥0.05). On the other hand, increases and changes in plasma levels of orexin, decreased triglycerides, LDL and body fat percentage were observed in the training groups compared to the control group, but these changes were not statistically significant (P≤0.05). Also, HDL levels increased in the HIIT group and decreased in the MIIT group, which was not significant in any of the groups (P≤0.05). It seems that interval training with different intensities increases plasma levels of orexin and improves some indicators of lipid profile, body fat percentage and cardiovascular endurance in overweight and obese women, but this improvement was more noticeable in the HIIT group.

It appears that interval training with different intensities increases plasma levels of orexin and improves some indicators of lipid profile, body fat percentage, and cardiorespiratory endurance in overweight and obese women, but this improvement was more pronounced in the HIIT group.
Racil3 and colleagues (2013) in their study aimed at investigating the effect of 12 weeks of interval training (moderate and high) on the lipid profile and adiponectin of obese adolescent girls, reported that positive changes were observed in LDL and HDL levels in both groups, but waist circumference, triglycerides, and cholesterol decreased only in the high-intensity interval training group (15).
Therefore, the general purpose of the present research was to compare the effect of two different intensities of interval training on plasma orexin levels, lipid profile, body fat percentage, and cardiorespiratory endurance in overweight and obese women.
Discussion and Conclusion The general purpose of the present study was to compare two different methods of high-intensity and moderate-intensity interval training on plasma levels of orexin-A, lipid profile, body fat percentage, and cardiopulmonary endurance in overweight and obese women.
Final Conclusion This study investigated the effect of an eight-week period of high- and moderate-intensity interval training on plasma orexin levels, lipid profile, body fat percentage, and cardiovascular and respiratory endurance in overweight and obese women.
