چکیده:
This research investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence, emotional dysfunction, and interpersonal problems in a student sample. The main objective of this study was to examine the type of relationship between emotional intelligence and emotional dysfunction and its components, including difficulty identifying emotions, difficulty describing emotions, and objective thinking, as well as the relationship between emotional intelligence and interpersonal problems and its six aspects, including problems related to assertiveness, sociability, compliance, intimacy, responsibility, and self-control. Three hundred and fifty-seven students (210 girls and 147 boys) from various fields of Tehran University participated in this research. Participants were asked to complete the "Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS)", the "Toronto Emotional Dysfunction Scale (FTAS-20)", and the "Interpersonal Problems Scale (IIP)". For data analysis, indices and statistical methods including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, multivariate analysis of variance, correlation coefficients, and regression analysis were used. The results of the research showed that emotional intelligence has a significant negative correlation with emotional dysfunction and its components and with interpersonal problems in the areas of assertiveness, sociability, intimacy, and responsibility. Regression analysis results showed that emotional intelligence can predict emotional dysfunction and interpersonal problems of students in the areas of assertiveness, sociability, intimacy, and responsibility. Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that emotional intelligence is correlated with emotional dysfunction and interpersonal problems. The results and implications of the research will be described and explained in this article.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The results showed that emotional intelligence has a significant negative correlation with emotional deficiency and its components, and with interpersonal problems in the areas of assertiveness, sociability, intimacy, and responsibility.
interpersonal problems An individual in areas of assertiveness 1 , sociability 2 , submissiveness 3 , intimacy 4 , responsibility 5 , and controlling 6 , as modified based on other individual capabilities (Horowitz, Rosenberg & Bartholomew 7 , 1993; Horowitz, Locke, Morse, Wikar, Dryer, Tarnow & Ghannam 8 , 1991), may also be influenced by social competence and emotional intelligence.
Alexithymia is a multidimensional construct consisting of difficulty identifying feelings 14 and differentiating between feelings and bodily sensations 15 related to emotional arousal 16 ; difficulty describing feelings 17 to others; limited imagery ability characterized by a poverty of fantasy, an objective (non-imagery) cognitive style, action-oriented and reality-based, or objective thinking 18 (Taylor & Bagby, 2000; (1).
Accordingly, the research hypotheses are examined and tested as follows: 1- There is a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and alexithymia and its components; 2- There is a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and interpersonal problems and its six aspects including assertiveness, sociability, submissiveness, intimacy, responsibility, and controlling.
