Children with intellectual disabilities experience numerous problems in daily life and educational issues, one of which is the influential impact on visual perception. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of visual-motor exercises on the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities in the city of Isfahan. From among 7 to 11 year old intellectually disabled students, 30 children were selected as samples and randomly placed into two groups of 15, including a control group and an experimental group. To select the samples, Wechsler intelligence tests were taken from the intellectually disabled children before the start of the exercise, and the trainable children were included in the study. Also, before starting the exercise, a TVPS-II visual perception pre-test was performed on the samples, and then the experimental group performed their exercise, which included 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week, and each session lasting 45 minutes. In the final stage, a TVPS-II visual perception post-test was taken. Based on the results of MANCOVA analysis (controlling for pre-test scores), visual-motor exercise in the post-test stage had an effect on the average of all components of visual perception except for the shape constancy component (P > 0.05). Also, the results showed that visual-motor exercises can improve the visual perception of children with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, it is suggested that visual-motor exercises also be used in the recovery process for the specialized treatment and rehabilitation of these children.
