چکیده:
Over the past two decades, the international system has witnessed the beginning of a new era called globalization, which, in addition to influencing the sovereignty of governments, has led to the emergence of new actors in the global arena that dominate the global economy. Governments' reactions to the process of globalization have varied. Some governments have resisted this process, while others are trying to adapt more to globalization by creating appropriate political and economic capacities. This article attempts to examine the impact of economic globalization on the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The necessities arising from economic globalization are considered in two ways. First, the economic approach to foreign policy, which highlights the role of economic instruments in Iran's foreign policy. Second, adopting a dialectical approach in dealing with globalization, which can lead to a change in the behavior of foreign policy decision-makers and ultimately to efficiency and transformation in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In any case, entering the arena of globalization is a necessary political decision, and one of the ways to remove potential obstacles in the process of globalization is to reform the economic structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
