Problems of Contemporary Man and the Necessity of Re-reading Islam in Islamic Thought with Emphasis on the Views of Martyr Sadr Seyyed Mahdi Mousavi Ali Sarlak Abstract Keywords: A) Introduction For more than a century, various thinkers throughout the world have realized that fundamental problems have arisen in the life of contemporary man; problems that have caused the distortion of humanity, its anxiety and despair, and ultimately, the lack of foundation for social life.
On the other hand, due to the dominance over nature, contemporary man has achieved a wide range of accomplishments and experiences, which has made human conditions and the importance of the social system more difficult and complex (Sadr, 1381: 231), and ultimately, in response to this fundamental and complex need, various schools of thought have emerged, claiming to promote human welfare and happiness (Sadr, 1429, Vol. 3, 16-17).
F) The inability of Western schools of thought to solve social problems After recognizing the fundamental problem of social life and human relations and discovering its internal roots, Martyr Sadr believes that as long as mankind is not equipped with a force that can create compatibility and harmony between internal motivations and social interests, social conflict will continue to exist.
Therefore, this religion, based on fitra and unity among all aspects of social life and the sovereignty of Tawhid over all existence, cures the fundamental problems of contemporary man in social life and human relations (Sadr, 1429, Vol. 1, Part A: 359).
