چکیده:
Heterogeneous evaluations exist regarding 'Ibn Hibban al-Busti', the renowned hadith scholar of the fourth century. In his writings concerning the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), he has provided more reports than others from the school of the Caliphate, and through this, he has been called a Shiite in some sources. At the same time, he has encountered contradictions in the jarh and ta'dil (criticism and praise) of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and has cast doubt on the reliability of the narrations of certain Imams (AS); sometimes he has praised Imam Reza (AS) and spoken of his successful experience in visiting his shrine (AS), and at other times, he has deemed him prone to error, misconception, and a strange Akhbari narrator. He has also weakened some narrations and narrators of Imam Reza (AS), specifically 'Abu al-Salt'. The present research, which is a combination of descriptive and analytical methods and whose statistical population is the biographical-hadith sources of both sects, considers at least four factors involved in evaluating his inconsistent behavior: intense religious prejudices, personality imbalance, scientific pride, and various preoccupations. Scholarly and fair evaluations contain the fact that Imam Reza (AS) was of the highest reliability, his narrations (AS) are firm, and his narrators (AS) are counted among the reliable narrators.

3) Abu Hatim showed a relatively greater inclination toward the Ahl al-Bayt (AS); when introducing the companions, immediately after the Caliphs, he proceeded to mention the reports of the excellence of the children of the Prophet (PBUH), the Ahl al-Kisa (AS), and then the other individuals of the "Ten Promised Paradise" (Ibn Hibban, 1414, vol.
Even more thought-provoking is his behavior in connection with Imam al-Rida (AS); while in "Al-Thiqat" he counts the Imam (AS) among the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and praises him with attributes such as wisdom and distance from falsehood, and speaks of his repeated experience in visiting and the problem-solving shrine of that Imam (AS), in "Al-Majruhin" he accuses the Imam (AS) of narrating strange reports and being caught in misconception and error, he writes: "Ali ibn Musa al-Rida is among the leaders and wise men of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and among the greats and virtuous ones of the Hashimites; his hadith, which is narrated through paths other than his children and his Shiites, especially Abu Salt, must be considered reliable; in fact, the fault in the reports that are narrated from him and whose invalidity is apparent lies with Abu Salt, his children, and his Shiites; because he himself is free from falsehood.
The Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and Ibn Hibban Abu Hatim al-Basti considers the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) to be the same as the People of the Cloak (Ashab al-Kisa) and grants them a distinguished position; this matter is evident from the order, number, and type of narrations he provides when conveying the virtues of the companions.
