The topics discussed include: principles and values, attributes of divine action, nature and natural elements, regulation of social relations, attributes of the built environment, and urban and architectural elements.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The present writing will attempt, as much as possible without referring to interpretations and narrations, and within the limits of brevity and conciseness, to introduce those verses of the Holy Quran that are somehow related to the structure of the city and can serve as a guide for those involved in urban issues who are eager to create an Islamic city, within the author's limited capacity, so that it eventually becomes clear that through contemplation, investigation, and scrutiny of Islamic texts, it will be possible to explain all the characteristics and specifications of the Islamic city.
With the reminder that since the Quran is the book of guidance for humans for all times and places, one should not expect that it should have spoken about specific details and particular instances of every time and place, such as the dimensions of doors and windows, the amount of built-up area, the width of passages, and the like; rather, the point is that this Book presents immutable principles as Sunnat Allah (the way of God), which can be manifested and implemented in all times and places through permissible methods and available means.
Another important note is that this article is in no way seeking to provide executive regulations or describe the details of implementation and the construction of cities and buildings, as this task requires extensive and all-encompassing studies where temporal and spatial conditions, available techniques, and attention to all environment-related sciences must also be considered in final decision-making; rather, the main intention is to open a door to prove that one can utilize the Divine Word and, consequently, the Sunnah of the Infallibles (AS) and Islamic teachings toward formulating the theoretical foundations of Islamic architecture and urban planning.
