چکیده:
In exegetical sources and Quranic sciences, in some cases, regarding the determination of the reason for revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul), or the Meccan and Medinan nature of certain verses and Surahs, the repetition of their revelation has been mentioned. Proponents of this view, when faced with numerous and conflicting narrations, have proposed the theory of repeated revelation. This group of researchers has used the authenticity of the chain of narration (Sanad) and the type of narrator's expression as criteria for identifying the reason for the revelation of a verse; however, limiting the criteria for identifying the reason for revelation or the Meccan and Medinan nature of verses and Surahs to the authenticity of the Sanad and the narrator's expression, alongside their initial assumption regarding the lack of Ijtihad by narrators, has created the problem of the emergence of various and conflicting narrations. Therefore, due to the inability to prefer the conflicting narrations existing in this field, they have interpreted them as repeated revelations and have practically avoided entering the realm of criticizing and denying the narrations; whereas the reasons of the proponents of this theory, from a scientific perspective, do not possess the necessary precision, and it is possible to prefer among the narrations related to the field of revelation of the verses and Surahs in question based on the rules of Hadith studies; furthermore, the opinions of the proponents of this theory in justifying the claimed instances have been contradictory, and the absence of the recording of the claimed verses and Surahs in the official Mushaf is another evidence of the invalidity of the theory of repeated revelation.
