چکیده:
This writing expresses and critiques the views of Ibn Taymiyyah regarding the occasion of revelation of the Mubahala verse. In his book Minhaj al-Sunnah, he has criticized the Mubahala verse as one of the characteristics of Amir al-Mu'minin (AS). While acknowledging the revelation of the Mubahala verse concerning the Ahl al-Bayt and the inclusion of Ahl al-Bayt—specifically Ali, Fatima Zahra, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husayn (AS)—he considers their presence in the Mubahala process a virtue; however, he believes the Prophet had no need for the prayer of the Ahl al-Bayt for Mubahala, and that this presence is not considered among the unique characteristics of Ali (AS). He argues that the title 'Nafs' (soul/self) in the Mubahala verse does not denote equality, and that the terms (our sons, our women, and ourselves) in the Mubahala verse are general and could include others besides the Ahl al-Bayt, since no one else was present at that time for Mubahala. This article, by quoting narrations and the words of Sunni scholars, deems Ibn Taymiyyah's claims baseless and invalid, and considers the Mubahala verse a strong proof of the virtue of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (AS).

". 3 As can be observed, Ibn Taymiyyah admits that the verse of Mubahala was revealed regarding the Ahl al-Bayt, and the Prophet's Ahl al-Bayt includes Hazrat Ali, Fatima, Hasan, and Husayn:; thus, their presence for Mubahala is considered a form of virtue for them.
Second Claim: The inclusion of the terms "abna'ana" (our sons), "nisa'ana" (our women), and "anfusana" (ourselves) over others besides the Ahl al-Bayt: Ibn Taymiyyah, based on the context of "nisa'ana" and "abna'ana," claims that "anfusana" in the verse of Mubahala is not exclusive to Hazrat Ali (AS); because "nisa'ana" and "abna'ana" have come in the plural form, but they are not exclusive to Fatima Zahra, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husayn; because at that time, no one among the daughters of the Prophet was alive except Fatima Zahra3, and Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, and Zaynab had all passed away before this event.
Hakim Nishapuri, in a narration, conveys Ibn Abbas's opinion regarding the verse of Mubahala as follows: The verse of Mubahala was revealed concerning the Holy Prophet (PBUH); while Hazrat Ali was the soul of the Prophet, and (نِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَکُمْ) was revealed regarding Fatima Zahra (SA) and (أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَکُمْ) was revealed regarding Imam Hasan and Husayn (AS).
Abu Nu'aym al-Isfahani in Dalail al-Nubuwwah, through Shabi, narrates the opinion of another companion named Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari regarding the verse of Mubahala, who said that the manifestation of (أَنْفُسَنَا) is the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ali (AS), the manifestation of (أَبْنَاءَنَا) is Hasan and Husayn (AS), and the manifestation of (نِسَاءَنَا) is Fatima Zahra (SA).
