Endowment (Waqf) as the most prominent instance of charity is the source of many cultural, social, and economic services. The tradition of endowment has been prevalent among trustees, dignitaries, emirs, and religious individuals during different periods, and charitable and good-hearted people have endowed part of their wealth, real estate, and movable property for the public, which remains as 'baqiyat wa salihat' (enduring good deeds) of the endower. This article attempts to address two examples of historical movable objects in Zanjan province: a discovered pottery vessel from Sultaniyeh with an Abwab al-Birr endowment inscription related to the Ilkhanid period, and an endowed Sangab from the Ahmad Shah Qajar period related to the Mahdiyeh Mosque in Zanjan.
