The ability of a human being to find meaningful value in their own life and in all its aspects requires a new construct of intelligence titled spiritual intelligence. Among all beings, only humans possess spiritual intelligence. Spiritual intelligence is one of the main and essential components of effective leadership, especially transformational leadership, which affects the strategic decisions of an organization. The aim of this research is to investigate the role of spiritual intelligence in the success of a transformational leader. In terms of purpose, the research method is applied, and in terms of data collection, it is descriptive-survey. The research data were collected from a sample of 180 employees and managers of the Ministry of Economy and Finance using stratified random sampling, and the hypotheses and conceptual model were tested using Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling, respectively. The research findings show that the conceptual model of the research has a good fit and the role of spiritual intelligence in transformational leadership is positive and significant. Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that increasing spiritual intelligence brings about an increase in leadership transformationality, and leaders can, by employing the characteristics of spiritual intelligence, influence the thoughts and beliefs of employees and guide their followers toward sublime goals. A leader can make fundamental changes in their behavior and management, thereby leading to the creation of transformation in the organization and fundamental changes in employee behavior.

Therefore, considering that this concept has not been investigated in previous research, by reviewing the subject literature and noting the importance and role of spiritual intelligence in leading employees, the main hypothesis of the research and its sub-hypotheses are stated as follows: Main Hypothesis − There is a significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and transformational leadership in the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
This means that one of the factors through which one can have committed, creative, perfectionist, flexible, and meaning-oriented employees is the existence of a transformational leadership style in the organization, so that these leaders, by employing characteristics of spiritual intelligence including honesty, fairness, wisdom, self-awareness, and perfectionism, can influence the thoughts and beliefs of employees and guide their followers toward sublime goals.
