As one of the new branches of psychological review, personality psychology has a great impact on understanding textس and discovering their symbols and codes. The three characters playing a role in Farooq Joydeh's ode "Our Martyrs" are: the martyrs, the oppressed people and the Arab leaders. With their idealistic and transcendent personality, the martyrs consciously sacrificed themselves in order to achieve their lofty goals. Their most basic needs, i.e. physiological needs, safety, love, belonging, and respect, have to some extent been met and they have now reached the last level of needs: need for self-fulfillment, B-needs or meta-motivation, unlike the other two characters who have stopped in the lower levels and have appeared in society as unfulfilled, passive and dysfunctional individuals, motivated by D-needs, deficiency and deprivation (D-). Through psychoanalytic critique and by comparing the characters in the ode based on Abraham Maslow's psychological theory and hierarchy of needs, the authors of this article intend to study the characteristics of the figures influential in the ode.

The martyrs, in this poem, play the primary role in this scene; as the most beautiful symbols of courage and perseverance in facing the thought of ignorant Arab leaders, they manifest among the personality types of self-actualized individuals in Maslow's view, with characteristics such as focusing on problems beyond themselves, empathy, autonomy, resistance against the culture of influence, etc.
