And in the long poem he composed regarding the occultation of the Imam of the Time, he considered the fear for life and the absence of suitable conditions for the expansion of the religious government of the Imam(a) as the reason for their occultation: ولكن روينا عن وصي محمّدوماكان فيما قال بالمتكذببانّ ولي الامر يفقد لايُريمستيتر الفعل الخائف المترقب Where he recites: له غيبة لابدّ من ان يغيبهاواقفه فصلّي عليه اللّه من متغيّب Sheikh Saduq raises this objection in a part of his words: (If fear for life has become the cause of the Imam's occultation, why does he not appear in this era, in which the Shiites enjoy more peace and security compared to the Umayyad period?) He responds: (The appearance of the Divine Proofs and their concealment is measured according to possibility, the management of the people of faith, and the scale of wisdom43.
In the seventh chapter of Al-Masail al-Ashara, Sheikh Mufid has raised this objection: (When during the era of Occultation the divine limits are not implemented, no one can be called to the truth, and no sacred Jihad is carried out against the enemies of religion, what difference does the existence or non-existence of the Imam of the Time make54?) In refuting it, he writes: (The Occultation of the Imam does not cause a defect in the preservation of Sharia and the nation.
