چکیده:
Quranic encyclopedism has a long history, and Oliver Leaman's Quranic encyclopedia "The Quran: An Encyclopedia" is the second encyclopedia written by Orientalists regarding the Holy Quran, which was written under the editorship of Professor Oliver Leaman in 2005 AD in America and published in one volume. Although this encyclopedia is commendable in that it is a new effort to present Quranic concepts to the audience through the revelatory book of Muslims, it suffers from deficiencies in various aspects such as: the involvement of subjectivity and common prejudices in the minds of Orientalists, and other gross errors. Oliver Leaman's encyclopedia has included only two Shia scholars (Sheikh Mufid and Ayatollah Khoei) in its entries; however, it has not clarified the reason for choosing these two figures. This research, which has been conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner, examines the role of these two Shia scholars in the expansion of sciences in this study and addresses the deficiencies that need to be compensated and completed in this field.
