چکیده:
In what follows، the author has examined Alfarabius' views on the roles of innate nature and society in acquiring ethical values. How to acquire ethical values is one of the important issues of the philosophy of ethics. Studying Alfarabius words shows that human innate nature in its two applications -those of intellect and capacity- plays a fundamental role in acquiring ethical values. There is a limit for an individual's innate nature in its two applications. Accordingly، the philosophers and social leaders must be naturally qualified for their positions. However، the ethical innate nature can only be actualized in a utopia; or else those values would disappear living the room for the vices. Utopia is a state whose members of society cooperate with the leadership of their good or best one who is able to train others. Did every member of that society do his duties، good characteristics would develop in his soul and would reach his moral perfection.

After examining Farabi's words, it became clear that nature, in both of its applications according to him - meaning the rational dimension and the dimension of potential and abilities - plays a foundational role in attaining moral virtues.
The Virtuous City is a society in which individuals cooperate under the leadership of a superior or virtuous human being who possesses the power of education, and if everyone performs their duty, virtuous habits are formed within them and they reach their moral perfection.
Although Aristotle does not accept Plato's view of recollection in the epistemological dimension, from an ethical standpoint, he considers humans to possess moral fitrat, and for this reason, he bases his science of ethics on the general universal characteristics of human nature (ibid.
This analogy indicates that Farabi considers education to be a social matter that is realized within a community; because the parts of the universe and the parts of the body can only possess their state of perfection when they are alongside one another; therefore, society plays a pivotal role in the perfection and degradation of humans; thus, Farabi considers the path to attaining moral virtues to be the Virtuous City.
The Role of the Virtuous City in Acquiring Moral Virtues The Virtuous City according to Farabi is a society under the leadership of a wise philosopher in which individuals cooperate to attain true happiness.
