چکیده:
Power, as one of the important concepts in the field of International Relations, has a history as old as human civil life. This important variable has undergone transformations under the influence of various factors, especially modern information technologies and social networks after the Cold War. One of the main transformations in this direction is the change in the dimensions of the concept of power from a hardware state to a software state, which has also influenced various components of power. Accordingly, the question that forms the main axis of this research is how information technology has affected the concept of power. Therefore, the main goal of this writing is the logical connection between modern information technology and the concept of power in today's world. The findings of this research indicate that in light of cyberspace, which has emerged as a result of modern information technologies, the concept of power has gained broader dimensions, among which its cultural and software dimensions have become a central issue in international relations. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that with the normalization and socialization of the concept of power, the actors and geographical boundaries of power, the resources of power, and its target groups have been affected.

The findings of this research indicate that in light of the virtual space created as a result of new information technologies, the concept of power has acquired broader dimensions, among which its cultural and software dimensions have become a central issue in international relations.
On the other hand, with the emergence and increasing expansion of information-communication technologies, the nature of politics and the pattern of exercising power has been transformed; however, the issue is the type and quality of this phenomenon's influence on the concept of power.
"Beyond Human Power or Diabolical Evil" by Virgilio Visarste Stephen Locke is another work in this regard that, by looking at the traditional concept of power, has addressed its various dimensions, but has not entered the discussion of its conceptual transformation and change in light of globalization and new technologies (Locke, 1991).
Therefore, considering the relevant literature background for this research, to which only a few examples were mentioned here, we find that although existing sources discuss the effects of globalization and changes in the international system and the susceptibility of power in the form of soft power or smart power; in reality, none of the existing sources have pursued investigating how information technology affects the concept of power.
