چکیده:
Negative theology is referred to as a theological system that uses negative expressions in describing our knowledge of God. In contrast, there is positive theology, which emphasizes positive and affirmative expressions to describe God. Negative theology is based on topics such as the unreachability and transcendence of God, transcendence and unreachability, and the impossibility of knowing the Lord. According to this view, God is transcendent from all qualities and attributes used for humans or what humans attribute to Him. Therefore, humans cannot speak about God except through negative language. Ibn Maimon, the greatest Jewish philosopher of the Middle Ages and one of the most famous figures in the history of Judaism, is considered one of the most important representatives of negative thought. In his view, there is no similarity between the Creator and the created; therefore, there is no way to know God except through negative attributes, and God cannot be described with any language other than negative language.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Maimonides emphasizes the relationship of distinction between the Creator and the created and believes that the only correct way to understand the attributes of God is to know Him through negative attributes, because in attributing negative qualities to God, there is no room for compromise, nor does it imply any deficiency in the Lord.
Maimonides presents another theory regarding the divine attributes and states that a group of thinkers believe that the attributes of God are neither identical to His essence nor outside of His essence.
Maimonides' intention with this statement is that people's belief in the positive attributes of God Almighty is not based on rational opinion and reasoning, but rather what has caused this type of belief is the following of the literal meaning of the verses found in the holy books.
2 Maimonides, in order to show that no real relation exists between God and His creatures, mentions two types of examples: first, that sometimes two things fall under a single genus but have no relation to each other.
Rather, they drive the human mind toward the ultimate thing that a human can perceive about God. For example, negative attributes prove the necessity of the existence of something that is different from any other essence that we perceive with our senses or encompass with our intellect.
To show that the human intellect is incapable of perceiving the essence of God and therefore the best method for describing Him is to use negative attributes, Maimonides provides an example.
