چکیده:
The political interpretation of the Quran is a contemporary approach adopted by scholars in recent centuries. In these interpretations, scholars seek answers to societal and political issues and look to the Quran for solutions. This research aims to revisit the opinions and thoughts of two influential contemporary Islamic thinkers, Sayyid Qutb, and Mohammad Javad Moghnieh, through a descriptive-analytical and comparative-critical approach, focusing on their political interpretations in F i Zilal al-Qur'an and al-Kashef. The central question of this study is to identify the differences and similarities in the political interpretations of Sayyid Qutb and Moghnieh. The findings indicate that both thinkers, observing the deficiencies in Islamic societies, have sought solutions within the guidance of the Quran, viewing the establishment of Islamic governance as the only remedy. However, they differ in their views on the form of governance, its creation, and the characteristics of the ruling authority. Examining their life trajectories reveals that they were products of their surrounding environments, representing the attitudes prevalent in their societies. Both were keenly aware of their time's challenges and were politically committed. Moghnieh, sensitive to the strengthening of the ideological and political structure of the Muslim community, emphasized the need to elevate the intellectual capabilities of individuals. On the other hand, Qutb adopted a different approach, recognizing the turbulent nature of Egyptian society. He understood the necessity of selecting a new and revolutionary discourse to generate a movement and launch a wave of change. Through multiple books and articles, Qutb aimed to strengthen individuals' beliefs to bring about transformation in intellectual movements.

In this regard, the views and thoughts of two thinkers of the Islamic world and supporters of contemporary Islamic movements, namely Sayyid Qutb and Muhammad Jawad Mughniyah, deserve review.
The research findings indicate that both thinkers, by observing the existing inadequacies in the Islamic society, have taken steps in the thought of compensating for backwardness in light of Quranic guidance and considered the only way to liberate Muslims to be the establishment of Islamic sovereignty; however, they differ in determining the form of government, how to establish it, and the characteristics of the ruler.
