Explaining the interaction between religion and the university in Iran at the current opportunity is a scientific, national, global, and necessary matter. On the threshold of the globalization of civilizations, every civilization has the duty to make its cry and call heard by the world. In this regard, Islamic culture—which is a blend of religious beliefs, human sciences, and empirical sciences—is among the most deserving civilizations that can shine in this midst. To realize the interaction between religion and the university (which is another approach to the unity of the seminary and the university), we must first tie science to spirituality and rescue it from the impasse that has left it confused. Among the strategies for realizing this interaction, one can examine the threats, opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses, and by using the sum of them, determine the strategy of this interaction. With a look at the chaotic state of Western humanity, good opportunities lie ahead for Islam; including humanity's approach to Islamic spirituality, the brilliant face of religious leadership (Velayat-e Faqih) in the global arena, the false democracy of the West, the unipolar world, and global poverty. In this context, the processes of interaction between religion and the university are its most vital and key horizons; therefore, introducing the bankrupt face of new humanism, analyzing moral impasses, the terrible consequences of continuing governments based on human sciences, exporting the Charter of the Islamic Revolution of Iran to the world, and institutionalizing religious government and religious democracy (in which both humans are respected and divine laws are implemented) are among the best and purest opportunities awaiting the interaction between religion and the university—opportunities that, if used appropriately, will be successful, otherwise, they may not have a significant manifestation.
