چکیده:
The novel entitled Mr. Pip by Lloyd Jones, a writer from New Zealand, was written under the influence of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations from which the author borrows the name of one of the characters in his story, Mr. Pip. The events of this story take place on an island in Australia. Lloyd Jones deals with issues related to the island's civil wars in the early 90s with the aim of offering realistic education which is in line with equipping students with the skills needed to adapt to the environment. In Mr. Pip, Lloyd Jones tries to represent people and social situations as they are in real life. To do so, the author of the novel adopts a problem-oriented approach that realistically expresses the surrounding realities. The present study aims to answer a fundamental question related to this novel: what are the most important components of Educational Realism in Mr. Pip? Findings suggest that in Mr. Pip, Lloyd Jones emphasizes the role of the teacher in training students by shedding light on the effects of the teacher's teachings and innovation in persuading and motivating the students in the class.

1- 1 - Problem Statement Realism means being realistic, and its goal is to represent the real, objective, and external world and to narrate and analyze phenomena through a cause-and-effect perspective by precisely recreating the details of life, which is one of the aesthetic manifestations of this school: the realistic story; on the other hand, from the viewpoint of the realist school, the teaching method must be based on scientific and research findings, and instructional methods are acquisitive and learnable; therefore, "teachers, while obtaining continuous training in the field of principles, techniques, and teaching methods, must carry out the process of teaching and learning in the most logical way.
In this regard, since the main theme of the novel Great Expectations takes place in a school setting and it is this school teacher who plays an important role in changing and motivating students, the present article attempts to examine the instances of educational realism in Lloyd Jones's novel Great Expectations.
