Consequences of the Allied Military Presence in Lorestan (1941-1945 AD) Shahram Yousefifar * ** 1 Mohammad Dalvand Abstract After the occupation of Iran during World War II, Lorestan became a focus for the occupiers due to various reasons, including its location in one of the main railway corridors and paved routes from north to south, its strategic military position (proximity to Kermanshah, Iraq, Khuzestan, and the north of the country), and the presence of tribes with capacities for dissatisfaction with the central government.

Introduction The Lorestan region during World War II (1941-1945 AD) was a focus and an operational field for Allied forces for various reasons: proximity to Kermanshah and Khuzestan provinces and the country of Iraq, the passage of the railway and important paved roads from the north to the south of the country, the existence of oil resources in its south, and especially the presence of various tribes that had severe dissatisfaction with the central government.
Makki (1987) in "The Twenty-Year History of Iran" (Vol. 8), Katouzian (2013) in "The Political Economy of Iran," Foran (2011) in "Fragile Resistance," and Mahdavi (2011) in "History of Iran's Foreign Relations" have discussions regarding World War II, the occupation of Iran, and the issue of the presence of Allied forces in different parts of the country; however, these mostly pertain to the political and military approaches of the aforementioned authors and researchers and lack an economic and social approach, especially regarding the Lorestan region.
