Keywords: Prison, crime, criminal, social and supportive assistance, recidivism and re-entry into prison Introduction The role of aftercare centers for prisoners in providing social and supportive assistance to prevent recidivism is important because prisoners face many problems after their release.
According to Article 1 of the Regulations for Aftercare Centers, the reform and rehabilitation of prisoners with the aim of preventing recidivism through material and spiritual support and providing a favorable environment for their return to a healthy social life has been entrusted to these centers.
Based on the results of this research, effective measures can be taken to prevent and reduce recidivism and the return of released individuals to prison by: implementing principled and standard separation and classification of prisoners in prisons, improving housing and maintenance conditions and the type of effective services provided to them, removing formal and informal labels from released prisoners, providing effective services and control through aftercare centers, accepting released prisoners among family, friends, and formal and informal institutions, and preventing their exclusion.
Of course, this social pathology mentions employment as one of the important problems and says: government agencies also require a criminal record certificate from all individuals to provide a job, and this obstacle leads to unemployment after release from prison, which leads to poverty and ultimately delinquency.
