The present research aims to analyze the content of the first-grade experimental science book and identify the characteristics of the book based on life skills. The research population was the first-grade science book, and the unit of analysis was life skills using a census method. The research method was descriptive of the content analysis type, which was coded using a coding table for the entire experimental science book based on 91 skills and 24 categories. For calculation, the inter-coder correlation method was used (R=0.86). The results showed that a total of 91 life skills were referred to, and among the ten skills, self-awareness skill (17 cases) had the highest number, while the skill of coping with emotions (0 cases) had the lowest number of life skills in the first-grade science book.

The World Health Organization (1998) defines the educational objectives of life skills as achieving the following abilities: ــ Acquiring self-awareness, self-evaluation, and self-esteem ــ Establishing communication with others ــ Cooperation ability, such as the ability to play and work together to achieve a common group goal ــ Acquiring critical thinking and the ability to critically evaluate information, theories, and the behaviors of others, and creative thinking ــ The ability to make prudent decisions at all levels of life based on collecting correct information and organizing and evaluating it ــ Negotiation ability, such as reaching an agreement with others and closing a contract ــ Ability to manage others with individuals, such as the ability to avoid confrontation, mediation methods in conflict ــ Ability to assert oneself ــ Ability to avoid danger ــ Ability to cope with emotions and psychological pressures Self-awareness is the ability to recognize and be aware of characteristics, weaknesses and strengths, desires, fears, and disgust.
In the sixth-grade Social Studies book, among the categories of life skills, the most attention has been paid to decision-making, while the least attention has been paid to critical thinking and coping with stress (Asadollahi, Ghasemizadeh, and Dehghani, 2016).
