چکیده:
Advanced media tools, which are products of globalization and the communications and information revolution, play a significant role in challenging the values and norms governing the Islamic Republic of Iran. The speed of these transformations is such that it affects the life, growth, and maturity of young people and disrupts the socialization of the younger generation; in addition to distancing youth from the goals of the Islamic Revolution, including the movement towards the ideal of a new Islamic civilization, it has caused a gap between generations. Using 'Berger and Luckmann's theory of contradiction between primary and secondary social socialization and Talcott Parsons' functionalist theory' through a descriptive-analytical method, and with a view to the Second Step Statement of the Revolution, this article examines the impact of the communications and information revolution on intergenerational interactions in Iran. The research findings indicate that the communications and information revolution, and the subsequent emergence of advanced and rapid media tools such as the internet, satellite, and virtual social networks, have disrupted the socialization process by reducing the role of institutions such as family and school, and they challenge the transfer of values, social, political, and cultural teachings from one generation to another. The research result expresses the impact of advanced and rapid media tools in creating a gap between generations in Iran.

Qaderi (1382), modernity and rapid economic and social transformations, the process of globalization, changes 38 Scientific Quarterly Year 15, Spring 2020 Issue 42 demographic, the influence of elites and the Islamic Revolution on one hand, and the lack of appropriate response from the country's political and social system to these transformations on the other, considers these among the factors creating the generational gap in Iran.
Also, for Scientific Quarterly Year 15, Spring 2020 Issue 42 39 To examine how new media tools affect the gap between generations, a combination of Berger and Luckmann's theory of primary and secondary socialization contradiction and Talcott Parsons' functionalist theory is used; because the effects of globalization and the faster communications and information revolution in Iran and developing countries are palpable, and subsequently, the role of advanced and rapid media in transmitting the norms and values of the dominant global culture in this group of countries—due to the widespread acceptance by the young generation of society and the inability or sometimes failure of the system to correctly and properly transmit the norms and values expected by society to the younger generation—causes inadequacy and extension in the process of transmitting values and norms to the new generation; therefore, in society, we are faced with a problem called the transmission of basic values to individuals.
