Harmony of phoneme & content in Hafez & Emad's ghazal Abstract There has been this issue about hafez’s ghazal what is popularity reason of his poem in comparison with conempoarary poets. Emad Faghih is one of his contemporaries noticed by Hafez but his poem is not as beautiful as Hafez’s poem. We are looking for differences of their poems by utilizing Grammonte phonological Theory. Then, I have chosen ten ghazals of them with same rhyme and theme to answer above issue. Result of this research shows us their differences are laid on their usage of harmony phenome and content. Pouyan (1391), in an article titled "Phonetic Stylistics of Hafez Shirazi's Poetry based on the Views of Maurice Grammont," in addition to describing Grammont's views, which are identical to the research method of the present study, has merely cited verses from Hafez's ghazals; also, he has only examined the expressive value the expressive value and emotional load of the phonemes of the verses; therefore, the unit of analysis in the aforementioned research is the verse; whereas in the present research, the entire ghazal has been examined in terms of the proportion and harmony of the application of frequently occurring phonemes of the rhyme or radif with the content, and the use of comparison is another difference between this article and the aforementioned research.
Additionally, the repetition of the semi-consonant "y" based on the above theory indicates the continuity of the poet's loneliness and its unending nature, which is perceived in both ghazals; therefore, with a general conclusion, it can be said that the proportion between the theme and the use of frequent rhyme phonemes throughout the entire ghazal, in other words, the harmony of melody and theme in Hafez's poetry is more palpable than in the similarly themed poem by Emad Faqih.
