Critical Stylistics of "Tarikh al-Wuzara" Zahra Jafarian * / Narges Eskooi ** Abstract The existence of a powerful Iranian-Islamic diwan-salar (administration) and the prominent presence of learned Iranian ministers - who were themselves the political-religious ideologues of their era - has been one of the prominent features of the Seljuk state, especially during the reign of the first sultans of this mighty government.
The main issue of this research is to investigate the stylistic layers of the book Tarikh al-Wuzara, in order to represent and analyze the ideology hidden within the linguistic and literary infrastructures of this text, using a descriptive-analytical-deductive research method.
During the Seljuk era, due to the flourishing of the diwan-salar institution and the elevation of the prestige and status of the ministry and the minister in grand national decision-making, Wizarat-nama writing was also attended to by several historians and correspondents, including Najm al-Din Abul-Raja Qomi, the author of Tarikh al-Wuzara.
It is a reality that the author of 'Tarikh al-Wuzara', more often than not, in addition to attending to historical reporting, has addressed the literary and rhetorical arrangement of the text from a stylistic perspective, and from an intellectual perspective, has focused on presenting moral points, religious-belief systems, and his own personal judgments—stemming from his political and religious thoughts and biases—regarding the performance and character of individuals; in such a way that the audience often loses the essence of events amidst the moral discussions and the long, exhaustive writings of Abul-Raja, and remains bewildered in the twists and turns of his literary and critical-educational discourses.
