چکیده:
Prayer is introduced as one of the most superior and beloved acts of worship; it is one of the few acts of worship that it is recommended to be careful about performing before the age of puberty. For proper spiritual growth, it is necessary for a human to become accustomed to prayer at the beginning of their life. The best time to connect with this act of worship is the beginning of childhood. This will yield results if done with timely and systematic training. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the necessity of its teaching and performance in terms of timing. Since the Infallibles have the greatest familiarity with human psychological characteristics, the best recommendations can be taken from them. In this research, an attempt has been made to collect, categorize, and analyze various narrations regarding the time to start training a child in prayer and the time for teaching its remembrances and actions. In this writing, first, two criteria mentioned by the Imams regarding the beginning of this worship are stated. One of these criteria is age; they have mentioned various times from six to ten years old. The second criterion is intellect and gnosis; through the summary and analysis of the narrations, the child's intellect and gnosis are introduced as the true criteria, and the mentioned ages represent the time when the child reaches them.

Prayer, child, education, starting practice, intellect, age Introduction Practicing and teaching acts of worship to children is a subject that the Ahl al-Bayt have addressed extensively.
When the Holy One is asked about the time when a child is held accountable for prayer, he introduces the period between six and seven years; therefore, it expresses the duty of the parents between six and seven years, that they must hold the child accountable for omitting prayer.
Apparently, the narration in Bihar is correct; because, firstly, it is more consistent with the narrations issued for the age of seven; since in the narrations of six years, the establishment and necessity of prayer are mainly discussed; but regarding seven years, they mostly express the duty of parents to command the child to perform this act of worship.
One can seek recourse to two categories of these narrations, both of which express the duty of parents; one category stated to command children to pray, and in another narration, it was said that at this age, the child should be held accountable for praying and for abandoning it; therefore, the duty of the child before seven years is established.
Initially, His Eminence expresses the criterion of intellect (reasoning) for commanding a child to perform prayer, and when the time is questioned, he mentions the age of six, with the difference that in previous narrations, the word "wajib" (obligatory) was used and it described the duty of the child, but this narration presents the duty of the parents and says they should command the child to perform prayer.
