چکیده:
Cultural semiotics is a concept that was created following the selection of cultural elements as the primary subjects investigated by semioticians. By utilizing cultural elements, this knowledge provides a better understanding and perception of one's own culture and the 'other'. Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is among the texts that, through contact with various ethnic groups, falls into the category of multicultural texts. Therefore, this research attempts, using a descriptive-analytical method, to examine the process from the rejection to the removal of Siyavash in the Shahnameh from the perspective of cultural semiotics and to explain his position in terms of self and other. The main question of the present article is why Siyavash is considered an 'other' even among his own family. Additionally, the goal of this research is to expand the scope of cultural semiotic studies and provide analytical tools and foundational theories for text analysis. The results of the research show that Siyavash is not only considered an 'other' from the viewpoint of the Turanians, but even within his own country, he is seen by the person closest to him (his father) as a troublemaker who must be removed from the center of government. In a sense, he is considered a 'self-other'.
