چکیده:
The word 'Lahw' has different definitions in technical terminology. Some take it to mean absolute 'la'b' (play/amusement), some interpret the meaning of Lahw as intense joy, i.e., 'batr', and others say that Lahw refers to absolute movements that: first, no rational purpose is attached to them, and second, they originate from sensual powers. All three great jurists, in examining the proofs of the prohibition of Lahw, have generally referred to three reasons: the Book, the Sunnah, and Consensus (Ijma). The late Sheikh and the late Khoei do not independently address the verses related to Lahw. However, the late Imam, under the heading of examining verses and traditions, has examined the verses, including verse 173 of Surah Al-Baqarah and also verse 3 of Surah Al-Ma'idah. In the section on traditions, they have categorized and examined them into four groups. Another reason for these three great jurists is Consensus, which they have generally accepted and used for argumentation.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The late Imam: There is a doubt regarding the indication of this narration on the absolute prohibition of idle amusement (lahw), because this statement of the Imam (as), who said: "from this type" (min hadha al-darb), refers to musical instruments (ma'azif) and things of amusement (malahi), and perhaps he meant various types of amusement and musical instruments from which people derive pleasure.
The late Imam: He has raised an objection to the indication of the narration on the absolute prohibition of idle amusement, as follows: First: That all types of things that cause distraction (mulhiyat) are intended and are, in judgment, joined to gambling (maysir), is unlikely; because joining a ruling through the language of subject-joining is not appropriate for eloquence, and the mere sharing of them in causing distraction (ilha') does not prove this claim.
Or perhaps, what is meant is a specific type of heedlessness that requires clarification from God. The late Khoei: He has placed this narration under the fourth group of narrations that they have referred to, and while objecting to their indication, he stated: We know by necessity that idle amusement (lahw), in general, is permissible and is among the permissible matters, such as playing with prayer beads, etc.
The late Sheikh: He has mentioned one of these narrations and accepts its apparent indication of the prohibition of idle amusement, which is the mawthuqa of Zurara from Imam Baqir (as): mawthuqa of Zurara from Abu Ja'far (as) who said: I asked him about one who leaves his family with hawks, falcons, and dogs to enjoy himself for one, two, or three nights, whether he should shorten his prayer or not?
