The subject of this research article is the impact of media on the alienation of the youth in Gorgan city in the year 1389 (2010/2011). Nowadays, mass media with their modern tools, including satellites, the internet, and the sending of messages and images via mobile phones, bombard individuals with various and attractive frequencies regarding different lifestyles, better living conditions, more attractive lives, a better country, more interesting friends, more seductive women, and generally a better situation. The research method in this article is survey-based. In this method, random and representative sampling of individuals from the studied community was selected, and their responses to a set of questions using a questionnaire were surveyed. The statistical population included 400 women aged 20 to 29 and men aged 25 to 29 in Gorgan city. Proportional stratified random sampling was conducted and studied. The research results show: the average media consumption indicates that in one week, each individual used the mentioned media for 7 hours and 42 minutes. The above statistics indicate that young people use mobile phones and foreign televisions for approximately more than one hour every day, and the internet for nearly one hour. The relationship between the weakening of religious beliefs and convictions of youth and their alienation was evaluated; existing data shows that the youth's assessment regarding the index of religiosity, evaluated through the item of trust in clergy, averaged 2.64 percent, which indicates an "intermediate" opinion. Additionally, the level of youth trust in the majority of people, their honesty, neighbors, colleagues, taxi drivers, members of parliament, city and village councils, executive managers, mass media, and merchants indicates that young people have a low level of trust in individuals belonging to these groups, while the level of youth trust in relatives, friends, doctors, teachers, professors, clergy, police, and the level of voluntary assistance to neighbors is at a moderate level.
