چکیده:
The aim of this research was to conduct a comparative study of the performance of university managers in Golestan province. This study was a mixed-methods (qualitative and quantitative) survey type. The research population in the qualitative section consisted of academic experts in Golestan province, 15 of whom were selected using purposive sampling. In the quantitative section, the population included managers and vice-presidents of universities in Golestan province (395 people) in the year 1396 (2017/2018), from which 193 people were selected using cluster random sampling based on Cochran's formula. By studying the theoretical background and interviewing academic experts using the Grounded Theory method, a manager performance questionnaire (35 items) was designed. The face and content validity of the tool were confirmed by experts, and the reliability using Cronbach's alpha method for manager performance was calculated as 0.74. Data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with SPSS-19 software. The findings showed that manager performance had five dimensions: individual, educational and student-related, research, health and administrative, and financial. Additionally, the performance of managers at the University of Medical Sciences was better compared to the performance of managers at other universities.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The results of the research by Safarian, Salehi, and Kazemi Malek Mohammadi (1392), which was conducted with the aim of feasibility testing the implementation of performance management at Golestan University of Medical Sciences from the perspective of faculty members, indicated that the capability of implementing performance management and its dimensions, including faculty, group performance evaluation, performance support for faculty members, performance support for groups, comparison and ranking of faculty members, comparison and ranking of groups, and group management in the university, was at an acceptable level.
On one hand, performance is the sum of job-related behaviors that individuals exhibit, and since managerial performance is one of the important indicators and criteria for the efficiency of the educational system, and considering that no valid criterion for their required skills has been predicted in the conditions of selecting and recruiting managers, therefore, examining managerial performance and analyzing its related factors is considered one of the most fundamental research topics in educational systems (Gholami and Yarmohamadzadeh, 1395).
Also, given the role and importance of managers' performance in advancing organizational goals, this research has attempted to identify the dimensions and components of managerial performance in universities and, with their help, design and implement helpful solutions and programs for short-term and long-term planning in the university to improve managerial performance.
The findings of the present research showed that managers' performance included five dimensions: individual, educational and student, research, health, and administrative and financial.
