چکیده:
This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the impact of the KWL instructional strategy on academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students. The present research was quasi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The research population consisted of all male third-year high school students in Miandoab County in the 1395-96 academic year, where two classes were selected using cluster sampling, and one was randomly selected as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The experimental group received 8 sessions of training under the KWL instructional strategy. To measure the data, Harter's (1981) academic motivation questionnaire and a teacher-made academic achievement test were used. The data were analyzed using the univariate analysis of covariance method. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in both variables: academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students. In other words, the KWL instructional strategy led to a significant increase in academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students (P < 0.001). Given the results, psychologists and school counselors can use the KWL instructional strategy to enhance academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students.

Given the results, school psychologists and counselors can use the KWL instructional strategy to improve academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students.
Martin & Steinbeck learning place great emphasis on the role of motivation and individual beliefs and believe that learners should not just be presented with materials and concepts, but rather they should be prompted to activity through necessary instruction so that this way both increases their academic progress and creates positive attitudes, motivation, and beliefs in them (Karahoca, Karahoca, Karaoglu, Gulluoglu & Arifoglu, 1 2010).
Given the role of this strategy in motivation and learning, the limited research background, and the lack of consistent domestic research on it, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the impact of the KWL instructional strategy on academic motivation and academic achievement in the Religion and Life course of students.
