One of the characteristics of individuals resilient to stressful events is possessing personal-social support. This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of personal and social support on the sense of security of pregnant women living in earthquake-stricken areas. The implementation method of this research is qualitative and phenomenological in nature, and semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to collect data. The research sample included 12 pregnant women with a high school diploma or lower, who were selected from the population of mothers aged 25 to 30 in the agricultural area of Sarpol-e Zahab city using purposive sampling. Data analysis led to the production of 2 main categories, 8 subcategories, and 46 extracted codes. The first main category was 'personal supportive factors,' which included subcategories of personal competencies, personal values, the role of personal experiences, personal beliefs, and personal narratives. The theme of the second category is 'social supportive factors,' which consisted of the subcategories of social values, social supports, and family support. Conclusion: The results of the research showed that for pregnant women who have experienced an earthquake, social supportive factors, including 'social values, social supports, family supports,' and personal supportive factors, enhanced the women's sense of security.

The first main category was "personal protective factors," which included subcategories of personal abilities (acceptance of others' situations, acceptance of reality, acceptance of the crisis situation, resilience and authority in the face of grief, coping skills in the face of crisis, acceptance and adaptation to a new lifestyle, habituation to critical issues, and the necessity of contentment), personal values (patience in the face of problems and calamities, having hope in God, optimism for the future, love for God, love for spouse, love for children, love for others, and a sense of self-worth), the role of personal experiences (experience of loneliness, experiencing other hardships, and sharing personal experiences with others), personal beliefs (belief in God, belief in the afterlife, belief in prayer, belief in Quranic verses, belief in non-material signs, belief in divine fate and destiny, belief that the world is a transitory place, the mixture of sorrow and joy in this world, belief that divine blessings are entrusted to servants, belief in absolute submission to the Lord, belief in divine testing, and belief in the wisdom of the Lord), and personal monologues (replacing negative words with constructive words, changing negative thoughts into hopeful thoughts, and hopeful self-talk).
