The research findings showed that there was a significant difference between the happiness and hope for life of the experimental and control groups in the post-test stage.
Considering the research findings, it can be stated that positive therapy leads to an increase in the level of happiness and hope for life in cancer patients and can be used as an effective method.
Happiness leads to a positive attitude toward life, positive self-concept, enjoyment of mental health and emotional balance, hopefulness for the future, a desirable and satisfying attitude toward oneself and others, balanced social relationships, distance from malice and hatred, conscious selection of life goals, effort to achieve goals, avoidance of wasting time and laziness, increase in life successes, enjoyment of high life indicators, better immune system performance against stressors, better sleep, greater inclination to help others, better occupational-educational performance, and better decision-making (Luhmann, Necka, Schönbrodt & Hawkley 4, 2016; Diener, 5 2000).
A review of research shows that positive psychology-based treatments have an effect on a wide range of psychological variables, and it seems that positive-minded treatment can increase the happiness and hope of cancer patients.
Meyer, Johnson, Parks, Iwanofski & Penn can be effective for cancer patients; however, what is certain is that positive psychology-based treatments have not been applied to cancer patients, and for this reason, this research answers the question of whether positive-minded treatment affects the happiness and hope for life in cancer patients?
8 percent of the increase in hope for life of cancer patients in the experimental group can be attributed to the effect of positive attitude therapy.
