چکیده:
This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between job characteristics and the job adaptability of graduates newly entering the labor market. The research sample included 94 graduates from public universities in the city of Kermanshah. Data were collected using standard questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modeling and confirmatory factor analysis. The findings indicate that job characteristics have a direct impact on job adaptability and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also acts as a mediator affecting job adaptability. Based on the research findings, three variables—job identity, autonomy, and feedback—were confirmed for job adaptability. The achievements of this study serve as a final argument and a very serious warning to universities, as they have not considered a plan for the future careers of students in their academic curricula, nor have they provided any clear mechanism through which they can utilize their technical knowledge after graduation. This will lead to the failure and ineffectiveness of university education in terms of application. Therefore, it is suggested to higher education planners in the country to increase real, rather than slogan-based, skill training in student curricula and, alongside that, teach graduates how to adapt to the world outside the university after graduation.
