چکیده:
The aim of the present research is to examine the methods of organizing non-book resources available in the Documents and Records Center of the National Cultural Heritage Organization. The research method is descriptive-survey, and the statistical population includes 19,320 work sheets from six organized non-book sources available in the World Map Information Database of this center, from which 531 records were determined as the sample population using random sampling. Using a checklist prepared based on Anglo-American rules, the information included in the worksheets was extracted, and the title, edition, publication status, physical description, series, notes, and accessibility condition areas were examined. Statistical tables and charts were prepared using SPSS software, and Chi-square and two-tailed tests were used for data analysis. To evaluate analytical cataloging, abstracts, added entries, documentation of author names, and documentation of descriptors and keywords, they were examined based on relevant handbooks and terminologies. Based on the research findings, answers were provided to the research questions: 99.6 percent of the resources have a subtitle, 66.8 percent have an author statement, 21.2 percent have a co-author statement, 85.3 percent have a statement of responsibility, 71.8 percent have publication details, 29.8 percent have a physical description, 59.9 percent have a note statement, 0.9 percent have a title in another language, and 19.2 percent have a table of contents according to Anglo-American rules. 24.3 percent of author names and organization names are documented. 53.9 percent of the descriptors are covered by the Isifa terminology, and only 2 percent are selected from the technical and engineering terminology. A significant difference is observed between the descriptive and analytical cataloging of the examined resources, in the sense that descriptive cataloging has been performed more frequently. According to the Chi-square test, the research hypothesis was not confirmed, and it was found that in descriptive cataloging, less than 50 percent of the resources were not organized according to Anglo-American rules.
