چکیده:
This research was conducted under the title 'Comparison of the mental health of divorced women and widows of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (RA) in Tehran city.' The aim of the research was to identify and compare the mental health status of divorced women and widows of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (RA). Given the causal-comparative nature of the research, a mental health questionnaire was administered to a sample population of 120 people. Based on the findings obtained, no significant difference was observed between the mental health of divorced women and widows, and both groups were at the same level in terms of mental health. In terms of mental and physical health status, divorced women and widows were at a normal and moderate level. No significant difference was found between the mental health of women with low financial independence and women with higher financial independence, nor was a significant difference observed between the mental health of groups with different housing statuses. Ultimately, it was determined that the lack of difference between these two groups is likely due to common effects that the phenomenon of loss imposes on women. This is because, in some psychological theories, separation from a spouse is akin to their non-existence, similar to when an individual feels they have lost them.
