The aim of this research, titled 'Investigation and explanation of factors affecting the empowerment of social security medical staff, Golestan province, 2009', is to identify, root-cause, and prioritize the factors affecting employee empowerment and to draw a scientific framework for protecting human resources and increasing productivity. The statistical population of the research includes all medical staff of the social security sector in Golestan province, including official, probationary, and contractual employees, totaling 950 people. To estimate the sample size, Cochran's formula was used, and a sample size of 250 people was determined. In terms of goal and nature, this research is applied, and in terms of data collection method, hypothesis testing, and conclusion, it is descriptive. The research method, after separating the statistical population by county, used simple random sampling. The required information and data were collected using a questionnaire containing a number of closed questions based on the research variables, and its validity and reliability were confirmed with SPSS software. Data analysis in the descriptive statistics section was performed using frequency and relative tables, pie charts, bar charts, histograms, and measures of central tendency, and in the inferential statistics section using tables of central tendency indices, scatter plots, and the Pearson correlation coefficient test. The results of the test confirmed the significant relationship between organizational variables and employee empowerment. Finally, based on the results obtained, three domains—delegation of authority and attracting employee participation in organizational affairs, appropriate performance feedback to employees, improving the quantitative and qualitative level of specialized skill training for employees, and finally attracting the universal participation of employees in organizational information—were identified as having the highest priority in empowering the studied employees, respectively.
