Discourse analysis of the text of parliamentary debates regarding the assassination of the Shah in 1344. Abstract: On Farvardin 21, 1344, the Shah was targeted in an assassination attempt by one of the Royal Guard soldiers. This incident was interpreted and evaluated in various ways in domestic news circles and foreign media. The issue is how the National Consultative Assembly reacted to this incident. Given the importance and sensitivity of this incident, the Parliament addressed this subject on several occasions, and members of parliament showed important reactions to this event that were unique in their own way. The text of the parliamentary debates from the perspective of discourse analysis, especially in terms of the type of ideological interpretations used, is very significant. This article aims to evaluate the positions of the members of parliament using the discourse analysis method and to reveal the assumptions, hidden ideology, and social function, and to examine its connection with the institution of power. The article finally concludes that in the text of these debates, the monarchy system and the person of the Shah were considered the main secret of Iran's glory and the cause of the country's stability and permanence, and these words were actually the essence of the official discourse of the Pahlavi government in the political arena, which was now being spoken by the members of parliament. Two days later, meaning 31 Farvardin, the Parliament approved the two-urgency plan of the People's Party regarding the devotees of the Shah the content of which was as follows: "The martyrdom and sacrifice of the fallen guards, Mohammad Ali Babaian and Ayatollah Lashkari, in the way of preserving and protecting the country, are worthy of appreciation and praise by the Iranian nation.
