چکیده:
The category of security and the sense of security among citizens is important from two aspects: first, that the city, as a living situation, contains a dense volume of diverse individuals; therefore, it will be able to fulfill its special functions only when the security of its residents is met at an acceptable level. Second, given the urbanization (or becoming urbanized) of the majority of people around the world, the issue of security in the city has a close connection with key and major topics such as national security. Tehran, as the political and economic capital of Iran, faces issues and challenges such as increasing migration, traffic, social harms, being located in the country's earthquake-prone zone, water pollution, and soil pollution. These problems have not only endangered the security of Tehran's residents but also pose a serious challenge to national security and the political and economic life of the country. The present research is of an applied type and has been conducted using a descriptive-analytical method. The method of data collection is library-based and survey-based. The statistical sample includes 30 environmental officials and experts in Tehran, and the data have been analyzed using the SWOT technique. The results of the research show that the metropolis of Tehran is at a medium to low level in terms of environmental security, and aggressive strategies (SO) should be used to improve the environmental situation.
