چکیده:
The aim of the present research was "Identification and ranking of factors affecting road accidents in Bushehr province" with a focus on the role of the three factors affecting road accidents, including human factors, road, and vehicle. The research implementation method was descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the research includes all data related to accidents that occurred in the year 1389 obtained from the COM form. Also, for ranking each of the factors affecting road accidents, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique was used. The research findings showed that the share of the human factor in road accidents in Bushehr province was in the first rank with 75 percent. While the role of the road factor with 17 percent and the vehicle with 8 percent are in the subsequent ranks. Also, the sub-criteria of "haste and unnecessary acceleration" in the human factor, "deficiency of vertical signs" in the road factor, and finally "other deficiencies (such as: deficiency in safety belts, deficiency or absence of mirrors, deficiency of vehicle windows, deficiency of warning signs, technical engine deficiencies of the vehicle)" in the vehicle factor had the largest share in causing road accidents in the communication axes of Bushehr province.

Furthermore, the sub-criteria of "unnecessary haste and acceleration" in the human factor, "deficiency in vertical signs" in the road factor, and finally "other deficiencies (such as: deficiency in seat belts, deficiency or absence of mirrors, deficiency in vehicle windows, deficiency in warning signs, technical engine deficiencies of the vehicle)" in the vehicle factor had the highest share in causing road accidents in the communication axes of Bushehr province.
Abdos (2008), in a study titled "Investigating variables affecting rollover accidents in Iran's road network," concluded that the probability of rollovers is higher in the early morning hours due to lack of attention to the road, fatigue, and drowsiness, and generally outside the 15 kilometer range of cities, and exceeding the legal speed limit during the afternoon period, rather than at night, contributes to rollovers.
(2008) titled "Investigating factors affecting road accidents and providing solutions for their reduction: (Case study: Rostayi system of southern Khor and Biabanak)" indicate that among the factors affecting accidents, human factors had the highest role at 54 percent, and among human factors, speed excessive, rushing to reach the destination, failure to observe traffic rules and regulations, driver drowsiness, illegal overtaking, excessive distance between origin and destination, and fatigue resulting from it, have played a greater role compared to other factors.
As has been determined in this research, the variable "other defects," which includes defects other than brake and lighting system failures, is the most important vehicle factor in the occurrence of road accidents in Bushehr province.
