An individual's identity is shaped according to geography, history, and personal beliefs; that is, according to the climate, land, and place where they live, the time they spend, and the beliefs they hold, which constructs the individual's personality structure, and these are the indicators of identity that allow an individual to be identified by others. In this research, with the aim of 'investigating the social and cultural problems of student identity formation,' we conducted a study. To achieve the research goal, after studying theoretical literature and the opinions of sociologists, psychologists, the Quran, and Hadiths regarding identity formation and its influencing factors, the researcher, using field research methods and a simple random sampling method, distributed a questionnaire among 364 female high school students in District 8 of Tehran. After extracting the questionnaires and displaying descriptive statistics in the form of tables and figures, the following results were obtained from the analytical statistics section: The conflict between identity sources (traditional and modern) has a significant impact on the level of socio-cultural identity formation problems in girls. Chi-square tests and single-sample t-tests confirmed the intended research. Finally, suggestions have been provided to reduce the identity formation problems of girls. The results of this research confirm that both formal and informal education contribute to the formation of students' cultural identity. The findings of the research showed: There is a positive and significant relationship between the lack of conflict in identity sources and the reduction in the level of identity formation problems in girls.
