چکیده:
The Dasht-e Geru catchment is located in the Makran morphotectonic unit. Due to geological and geomorphological characteristics, this plain has low permeability, and groundwater recharge does not occur appropriately except in the low-slope areas and the surface of the plain. Overexploitation of water resources, alongside recent droughts, has severely reduced the quantity of groundwater resources. The aim of this research is to investigate the main causes, especially geomorphological and human factors, affecting the quantitative and qualitative decline of the Dasht-e Geru water resources. To achieve this goal, the geological and geomorphological characteristics of the plain's catchment and their impacts on the quantity and quality of groundwater resources were investigated. The research method is primarily based on analytical and descriptive methods. The research tools consisted of topographic and geological maps, as well as statistical data from hydrometric stations in the region. Additionally, data and results were controlled and completed through observations, interviews, and fieldwork. The results show that the geomorphological characteristics of the plain's catchment have directly and indirectly influenced human activities, particularly in the agricultural and water resource sectors, from an applied perspective. From a management perspective, it is necessary that the exploitation of groundwater resources be considered and implemented in long-term projects within planning, based on geomorphological considerations.

Findings and Discussion: Factors affecting the water resources of Garu Plain: The study area is located in the eastern part of the Makran tectonic unit.
The monthly average groundwater level height of Dasht-e Gru during the statistical period is presented in Table 4.
73 - Geomorphological units of the region From the perspective of morphological elements, the study area can be examined in three units: Gru River, Mountain, and Dasht-e Gru.
A - Bare plain-top This type includes the slopes of the elevations down to the low-altitude parts of the study area and has a maximum elevation of 100 meters and a minimum of 65 meters above sea level, and the topographic slope there is very low.
