چکیده:
War and peace are considered key concepts in international relations theories, and explaining the international system using the concepts of war and peace has always held special importance. Realism and liberalism, as two important theoretical approaches in international relations, have different views regarding the formation of the international system centered on war or peace, given their ontological foundations. Islam, based on its own ontological foundations and as a universal and comprehensive religion, has a specific and different approach toward international relations and, consequently, the status of war and peace in the international system, and it can serve as an alternative to challenge the perspectives of realism and liberalism theories. This research seeks to conduct a comparative study of the status of war and peace in Islamic international relations theory in comparison with the two general and pervasive approaches of liberalism and realism as the two dominant paradigms of theorizing in the field of international relations. The research hypothesis is based on the premise that the two approaches of realism and liberalism, with absolutism in their ontological foundations, have presented two extreme and immoderate views regarding the category of war and peace in the international system, whereas Islamic international relations theory, given the rationality and moderation in its ontological foundations, is free from this flaw. The research method in this study is descriptive and analytical, and the data collection tools are library and internet resources.

Islam also, based on its own ontological foundations and as a universal and comprehensive religion, has a specific and different approach toward international relations and, consequently, the status of war and peace in the international system, and can serve as an alternative to challenge the views of realism and liberalism theories.
The research hypothesis is based on the premise that the two approaches of realism and liberalism, through absolutism in their ontological foundations, have presented two extreme and moderate views regarding the category of war and peace in the international system, whereas the Islamic theory of international relations, given the rationality and moderation in its ontological foundations, is free from this flaw.
Realism, given its ontological foundations regarding human nature (evil) and the core of its theory (power), considers war to be the governing principle of the international system and peace to be accidental.
4. Comparing the Islamic approach to the status of war and peace in the international system with Realism and Liberalism A) Realism The nature of social relations, whether at the national or international level, is seriously influenced by attitudes toward humanity and politics.
But considering that the Islamic theory of international relations has adopted a realistic approach in its ontological foundations and looks at the nature of humans, politics, and international relations with a logical attitude, it provides a better explanation of the position of war and peace in the international system.
