The characterization of scholars and hadith narrators is one of the important topics in the field of hadith studies. Its necessity arises from the recognition of the narrators and authors of hadith books and assessing the extent of their knowledge of hadith science. This article aims to introduce Nawawi and his position in Sunni hadith. First, the bibliography, life, and works of Nawawi are examined, followed by an investigation of his scholarly personality. Finally, his unfinished commentary on Sahih Bukhari is examined and analyzed in terms of writing style and the type of information contained within it.
