چکیده:
In Van Valin's Role and Reference Grammar, the sentence and syntactic groups are examined in a layered manner with respect to the concept of the head. The head of the sentence is the verb, and the head of the noun phrase is the noun. Other elements of the group and sentence are placed in a specific rank relative to it, based on the relationship they establish with the head. By providing event meaning and adopting a capacitive structure, the predicative noun behaves like a verb; however, the inflectional features of the noun, such as number, gender, etc., on one hand, and the inflectional features of the verb, including tense, mood, aspect, person, and number, on the other hand, cause the concepts of the verb and the predicative noun to be different despite their identical reference to events, actions, or states, and to display different roles in the sentence and in connection with other words in the sentence. Consequently, considering inflectional and semantic considerations, the predicative noun is positioned somewhere between a full verb and a full noun. In this research, assuming the equality of the semantic domain of the noun phrase containing the predicative noun and the sentence, we examine the differences and similarities between predicative and non-predicative nouns in noun phrases and verbs in sentences, and we investigate the possibility of assigning grammatical features related to the verb, such as aspect, mood, and the like, to the predicative noun in the noun phrase. This recent investigation can serve as a decisive criterion for us to judge whether these features are semantic, syntactic, or morphological in nature. A side effect of this issue is validating some of Van Valin's classifications in determining the position of internal clause elements within various layers of the nucleus and the main part.

This means that the predicative noun, like the verb, is in the position of the core as the predicate, and the participating arguments are placed alongside it and below the core part as syntactic groups and under the general title of referential phrases.
(Sentence) 2- Competition with Team A (Noun phrase) As the two examples above show, the event of competition, whether in noun form or verb form, has the same argument structure and consequently the same predicative meaning.
nominal aspect deixis telicity Figure 5: Descriptive relative clause The elements that are located in the periphery of the head of the noun phrase, similar to their counterparts in clause structure, include adjuncts that are formulated either as adverbs or as prepositional phrases.
Although peripheral elements and operators are different, in any case, just like a verb, expressing such a meaning in noun phrases containing predicative nouns is possible.
In noun phrases containing non-predicative nouns, the use of the concept of modality is not even possible in adverbial form, and this case is also an example of the similarities between predicative nouns and verbs, and their difference from non-predicative nouns.
This feature is specific to the verb, but the reality is that, like other operators in a noun phrase containing a predicative noun, the concept of tense is also definable in an adverbial form.
